Under the guidance of a Senior Maintenance Technician, the Maintenance Technician Apprentice will learn the skills and knowledge required to performance maintenance tasks.   This role is expected to attend and complete Apprentice program.  This is a full time Apprenticeship and will combine company paid education with full time on the job paid experience.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the inspection, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, and facilities under the supervision of a Senior Maintenance Technician, including:
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions such as cleaning, lubricating and adjusting equipment. 
  • Install, start up, and shut down, equipment in accordance with company safety procedures and in line with OSHA requirements.
  • Maintain housekeeping of work area and equipment
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, diagrams, sketches, engineering specifications, and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
  • Learn to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Participate in classroom instruction and on-the-job training to gain the skills and knowledge necessary to become a fully qualified maintenance technician or engineer.
  • Keep a record of all maintenance work performed and report any issues or problems to the supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, which may include
    • Machine pumping, cleaning, oiling
    • Welding and fabrication
    • Operation of drill press, lathe, and mill for equipment repairs
Qualifications/Requirements:
    • High School diploma or equivalent.
    • Enrollment, or ability to enroll within 1 year of hire, and active participation in a accredited apprentice program.
    • Must be a collaborative team player, willing to take ownership of decisions and be a results-oriented self-starter.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Must have strong troubleshooting skills.
    • Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
    • Valid driver's license for forklift operation. 
    • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds independently.
    • Must be able to stand/walk for a minimum of 8 hours.
